UNIVERSITA' PER STRANIERI DI SIENA

L’Università per Stranieri è una Università statale ad ordinamento speciale che svolge attività di insegnamento e di ricerca scientifica finalizzate alla conoscenza e alla diffusione della lingua e della cultura italiana.
 
Per l'organizzazione e lo svolgimento delle attività didattiche e scientifiche, 
all'interno dell'Università per Stranieri di Siena operano: la Facoltà di Lingua e Cultura italiana, il Dipartimento di Scienze Umane, il Centro Linguistico, un Centro per la Certificazione della conoscenza della lingua italiana come lingua straniera.
Le numerose attività dell'Università per Stranieri di Siena si rivolgono sia a studenti che a docenti.
Accanto ai tradizionali corsi di lingua e di cultura, offerti in una vasta gamma di combinazioni, l'Università per Stranieri di Siena rilascia Titoli di Laurea in Mediazione Linguistica e Culturale e in Lingua e Cultura Italiana/ Insegnamento dell'Italiano a Stranieri, il Diploma di Specializzazione in didattica dell'Italiano come lingua straniera, il diploma Ditals in Didattica dell'Italiano a Stranieri e la Cils - Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera. La Cils è il titolo ufficiale che dichiara il grado di competenza comunicativa in italiano come lingua straniera. La Certificazione CILS è  riconosciuta dallo Stato italiano in base a una convenzione con il Ministero degli Affari Esteri.

UNIVERSITY FOR FOREIGNERS
The University for Foreigners is a public institution with a special mandate of undertaking research and instruction in the fields of Italian language and culture.  Instruction and research activities at the University for Foreigners arecarried out by the Faculty of Italian Language and Culture, the Department of Humanities, the Language Centre, the Centre for the Certification of  Italian as a Foreign Language.
 
The University of Siena for Foreigners provides courses for university students as well as language instructors. In addition to traditional courses in language and culture, provided in an innovative range of combinations, the  University of Siena for Foreigners offers  Graduate Diplomas  in Italian Language and Culture/Didactics of Italian as a Foreign Language and in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation , the Diploma of Specialisation in the  Didactics of Italian as a Foreign Language, the Diploma Ditals in the Didactics of Italian as a Foreign Language and the Certificate of Italian as a Foreign Language (CILS).
 The University of Siena for Foreigners is authorised to grant the Certification of Italian as a Foreign Language (CILS), recognised as an official title of linguistic achievement by Law 204 of 17 February 1992. The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the basis of an agreement with the University, recognises the Institutes of Italian Culture outside of Italy as official sites of CILS exams.
